Hi Jess,
I got your email – will respond in a sec. Just wanted to check out your site here. Very nice… Your interests listed above match many of mine – keats, yates, wilde, depeche, NIN, Smashing Pumpkins, New Order, Nirvana, Classical composers…
It’s interesting that while going to school you’re able to manage writing books too! Amazing… I just don’t have the focused attention gift like that!
I have a friend living in New Hampshire, Randy Duermyer, he writes at homebusiness.about.com – have you checked it out? Just so you know you’re not the only one up in those parts. How do you go from Singapore to Maine? Wow. Once I moved from Hawaii to NYC – but, not really as bad as Singapore to Maine if we’re considering the weather.
Hope it’s warming for you up there!
Mike

Hi Mike!
Still haven’t replied your mail — just finished a 35-page advertising plan with regards to “establishing my brand identity as an author” (proposed and approved final project for a business module, lol). Yeah, NIN!! I haven’t kept up with the current music scene in ages. It just doesn’t seem to be able to match up with the old school stuff.
I must say I give myself a lot of self-induced stress (with the books-writing, etc)…but hopefully I’m investing my time well.
Thanks for the homebusiness link — I’ll probably find something very useful there! Yup, Singapore’s weather is mainly sunny/rainy. Here, the four seasons are pretty extreme (especially winter), but it’s really nice at times too.
Thankfully, it is warming up now :D

Ooh, I think one of my friends mentioned it before — I think I have a profile on imeem and somewhere else, but usually use YouTube (visual + audio)!

I had to look up who that is. You know Americans – we don’t have a well rounded education about the world. We know the USA, and that’s about it. I couldn’t tell you who Canada’s PM is. Or if they HAVE a PM or a president. See what I’m saying Jess? lol
I just finished another ebook – considering adding audio or video component to it. How is school? Finished for now? Guess I’ll write email – I’m using your about page as my email. Cheers!

Never mind, there’s a first time for everything =P I’ve been increasingly out of touch with the news since I was 17, to be honest…I usually pick up on current events from the conversations of other people, lol.
Congrats on finishing another ebook! I’m not sure how to embed video into it, that would be nice.
Supposed to start on one summer course soon / then 3 upper division courses + one more elective for Fall 2010. Hmm, I believe some people use Facebook like MSN!…

Hi Zkairos!
Thanks for dropping by, heh [and for the nice comments — it can get a bit “troublesome” at times, to organise things on a website].
I know! I’m always surprised to see the various similarities between INXX types [around the globe = more interesting perspectives too] :)

Interesting blog and your psychological thrillers are intriguing. As you know, I write in a similar genre. We should talk. I saw you are on DeviantArt if you used to frequent the chatrooms, we probably did have a chat or two about something (I don’t remember ever having a chat with a psychological writer on DeviantArt as most of the members were heavily into sci-fi). Anyways, thanks for popping by LaeLand and have a look around. I sure enjoyed my visit in the jess c. scott world. You’re welcome to write a post for LaeLand if you wish/have time/feel like it. I’d be happy to run it. Best,

Hi Lae,
Nice to hear from you! I think I visited the dA chatrooms a few times only (I do recall a lot more members being into sci-fi more than psychological thrillers).
I’d be glad to write a guest post for you some time (and feature one from you as well, if/whenever possible). I will drop you an email sometime ;)

I am finding my way around wordpress. As part of my exploration I just read the Devan Nair article on the Emerging Elite. Good stuff. It cld easily have been an Economist article. But guess what I hadn’t noticed it was quite an old article, which shows how much I know about Singaporean affairs. Still, it was a good read and I suspect his comments might still be true of today. Or wld I be right in assuming the new elite he described simply got richer and pulled up the drawbridge behind them? I see from another of your blogs that caning is still in place. So phps the new elite is now an old elite. As I read, I thought Nair should be ruling the country as his views were well grounded.

Thanks for reading that article — it’s from a compilation of essays (that I have a hard copy of!). No worries, my knowledge on Singapore’s history was quite weak in my teenage years right up to mid-twenties. For the latest on the new elite, this post should be of interest.
Devan Nair did not end up ruling/leading the country. More info:
